Following Rutledge's first-quarter report, which noted that the coach's headset communications might be affected by Trump's attendance, the broadcast booth's audio became difficult to understand. The static and distortion persisted for several minutes, making it a challenge for viewers to follow the commentary from play-by-play announcer Chris Fowler and analyst Kirk Herbstreit.
At one point, Fowler was heard asking Herbstreit to remain quiet while technicians worked to resolve the audio issues.
