Abbott Elementary Season 6 Premieres Tonight on ABC
Fans can catch the latest season of the popular mockumentary-style sitcom, with options to watch for free.
Class is back in session as "Abbott Elementary" returns to ABC for its sixth season on Thursday, Oct. 7. The new season, which will feature 22 episodes, premieres at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Series creator and star Quinta Brunson teased to Entertainment Weekly that this season will focus significantly on the characters of Gregory (Tyler James Williams) and Jacob (Chris Perfetti), marking major developments in their storylines. Brunson also indicated that the "love affair" between Janine (Brunson) and Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) will "resurface very clearly this season."
The season premiere, titled "Jungle Classroom," will explore Gregory and Ava's evolving dynamic, Barbara seeking Jacob's assistance, Janine redecorating her classroom, and Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) working to regain control of hers.
In addition to the new season, "Abbott Elementary" is set to film its 100th episode at Disneyland, as reported by Deadline. This milestone episode is scheduled to be filmed over the next month.
For viewers without cable, the season premiere can be streamed for free via DIRECTV's five-day free trial. The Choice plan from DIRECTV offers over 125 channels, including ABC. Alternatively, new episodes of "Abbott Elementary" are available to stream on Hulu.
