Abbie Chatfield, an Australian media personality, recently shared photos from a romantic getaway with her boyfriend Adam Hyde on the Greek island of Folegandros. The trip follows an incident where Hyde, a musician performing as Keli Holiday, was detained at the US-Canada border and denied re-entry into the United States.
Hyde had been scheduled to perform shows in the U.S. and Canada between May 1 and May 7. After completing his Canadian dates, he was detained at the U.S.-Canada border, leading to the cancellation of his final New York City performance and the revocation of his touring party's visas.
Speculation arose that Hyde's detention might be linked to a video Chatfield posted in July of the previous year, in which she made remarks interpreted by some as suggesting harm to U.S. President Donald Trump. Chatfield later addressed the video, stating she had "done so much growing" and regretted her words, clarifying that she did not call for Trump's assassination and that her comments were intended as a joke aimed at "incels" and the online idolization of Luigi Mangione.
Chatfield's representative confirmed Hyde's return to Australia, where he was preparing for his domestic tour. U.S. authorities did not provide a formal explanation for the detention. The incident occurred against a backdrop of heightened U.S. border controls and proposed changes to the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) that could require travelers from visa-exempt nations, including Australia, to provide extensive social media history.
Chatfield's social media posts from Greece included images of her in a bikini, dining out, and relaxing on the beach. She noted that she painted extensively during her holiday. The couple's trip to Europe has been described as being welcomed with "open arms."
