An unfinished mansion on Los Angeles's Mulholland Drive has transformed into a notorious party house, drawing squatters and trespassers who have turned the property into a site for vandalism and alleged drug use. The deteriorating, graffiti-covered home, valued at approximately $1.47 million, is causing significant concern among local residents due to safety hazards and the increasing risk of wildfire.

The property, located at 7711 Mulholland Drive, offers sweeping views of the city but has become an eyesore and a nuisance for the surrounding community. Neighbors report continuous trespassers, graffiti, discarded beer cans, and even instances of individuals seen on the roof.

The home, which was last sold in 2022, remains incomplete. Records indicate it lacked essential features like a kitchen, sewer connection, bathroom, and driveway at the time of sale. Despite these deficiencies, the owner was issued a building permit in May, suggesting potential future development.

However, until construction resumes, the property continues to attract unwanted activity. Videos shared by residents show cars lining the street at night, and some claim drug use is occurring on the premises. The structural integrity of the house and the hillside it occupies has also been a long-standing issue, with past mudslides attributed to its construction.

The proximity of the abandoned structure to dry vegetation has heightened fears of a potential wildfire. Neighbors have expressed anxieties that a single spark could ignite a blaze that could endanger the entire neighborhood.

Community members have been appealing for action for some time, but their concerns gained more traction as the property's problems escalated. In response, the city’s Department of Building and Safety issued an order on August 28, requiring the owner to "clean and secure" the site by September 7. The mayor's office has also directed inspectors to secure the property's fence with a chain and lock. The owner, Walking Media Inc., has not responded to requests for comment and is reportedly delinquent on property taxes.
