Aaron Rodgers has publicly addressed his past relationship with former race car driver Danica Patrick, refuting her claims that he was emotionally abusive.

In a recent interview with his teammate Cam Heyward, Rodgers shared his perspective on their relationship, which ended in 2020. He described Patrick as "depressed and not fun to be around" during their time together, but stated he stayed to be a supportive partner. Rodgers indicated that the relationship lacked intimacy before it ended.

"She tells a story that she was so blindsided and getting left by you, and that he leaves a trail of blood around him. And I’m like, what are you talking about? That’s not what happened," Rodgers said.

Rodgers' comments come after Patrick made her own allegations last year on Sage Steele's podcast. Patrick described Rodgers as "emotionally abusive" and claimed he left a "trail of blood" toward the end of their relationship. She stated the breakup was sudden and had a significant emotional toll.

Rodgers offered a different timeline, suggesting that discussions about purchasing a house together in Malibu marked a turning point. He recounted Patrick's suggestion of counseling and their subsequent cohabitation during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Then COVID hits and we’re stuck together," Rodgers stated.

Rodgers also commented on public attention to his past relationships, noting that his name is often invoked by former partners. "No one cares what they have to say until they say my name," Rodgers said. "I dated two women who nobody gives a f--- about unless they drop my name — and they like to say their version of the history of what actually happened."

The public exchange highlights differing accounts of their past relationship, a common occurrence in high-profile breakups. Both Rodgers and Patrick have shared their experiences, presenting contrasting narratives about the nature and conclusion of their time together.
