NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, 42, is looking ahead to fatherhood as he prepares for his 22nd and final season in the league. Rodgers revealed his anticipation for starting a family, expressing hopes of having a pregnant wife by next year and embracing the responsibilities of parenthood.
Rodgers, who is entering his final season with the Pittsburgh Steelers under former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, shared his excitement about life after football in an interview on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio. "I'm hoping that I have a pregnant wife by next [year] this time," he said. "And I'm looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family."
His wife, Brittani, has remained a private figure since Rodgers revealed their marriage in June of the previous year, placing their wedding around March or April 2025. He described her as a "private person" in a December 2024 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. Despite her elusive public presence, Rodgers indicated that he and Brittani are looking forward to starting their family, with him potentially stepping away from public appearances to support her.
This shift towards family comes after a significant reconciliation with his own family, which had been estranged for nearly a decade. Rodgers reconnected with his parents in 2023, initially at a golf tournament, and has since shared photos documenting family bonding trips. He has also been actively involved with his nieces and nephews.
"I'm definitely excited about it," Rodgers said about becoming a father, crediting his renewed family connections for amplifying this desire. "Being back in my family's lives and I'm having a lot of fun being Uncle Aaron. ... The more I'm around them, the more I get excited and so does the wife about having some of our own. So, yeah, I'm excited for that."
Rodgers anticipates a life less centered on public attention post-NFL. "I'm hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we're going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements," he told Adam Schein on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio. He added, "I can't wait for that next chapter of life and all that that entails, and sleepless nights and crying babies and changing diapers and all those things. I'm looking forward to all of it."
Rodgers was seen engaging with children's toys, seemingly for his brother Luke's two children, highlighting his burgeoning role as an uncle.
