Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has embraced his final NFL season by sharing photos from a team bonding week with teammates. The images, posted on Instagram with the caption "Last Rodeo. #bondingweek," depict the group participating in activities such as horseback riding, sitting around a campfire, paddleboarding, and dressing in cowboy attire, reminiscent of the television series "Yellowstone."
The post featured teammates Michael Pittman Jr., Ben Skowronek, Roman Wilston, Mason Rudolph, DK Metcalf, and Pat Freiermuth. Rodgers, 42, had previously announced his intention for the upcoming season to be his last.
Rodgers returned to the Steelers on a one-year contract worth $22.5 million. This reunion also marked a return to working with head coach Mike McCarthy, with whom Rodgers spent 13 seasons during his time with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers mentioned that McCarthy's hiring was a significant factor in his decision to return to Pittsburgh after initially believing his time with the team was over.
"I thought that was probably it for me in Pittsburgh," Rodgers told ESPN. "But when the decision was made to hire Mike, I started opening my mind back up to coming back." He also noted that his familiarity with other assistant coaches brought to the team contributed to his comfort level, evoking memories of his early career.
In the 2025 season, Rodgers passed for 3,322 yards, with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Steelers secured the NFC North title that season but were eliminated in the wild-card round. His performance included a 65.7 percent completion rate, 6.7 yards per attempt, and an average of 207.6 passing yards per game, a statistical output he achieved while navigating his MVP-caliber seasons in 2011, 2014, 2020, and 2021.
