NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers has voiced his disapproval of his brother Jordan Rodgers' past public discussions of their family's estrangement, stating that such matters should remain private.

Rodgers, 42, recently reconciled with his parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers, after a period of estrangement. However, he indicated that while he and his parents have mended their relationship, his younger brother's willingness to detail the family conflict publicly still troubles him. "I've been really staunch, going back to when there was a schism, that I feel like that stuff should be off limits," Rodgers told The Athletic. "Now, not everybody in the family adhered to the same thing…"

While Rodgers did not name his brother, Jordan Rodgers was the one who first revealed the family rift years ago during his appearance on the reality television show 'The Bachelorette.' At the time, Jordan stated, "Me and Aaron don't really have that much of a relationship. It's just kind of the way he's chosen to do life, and I've chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother."

Rodgers recalled an instance from 'The Bachelorette' where his family appeared on the show, leaving two empty chairs, presumably for him and his then-girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn. In a 2024 documentary titled 'Enigma,' Rodgers criticized this moment, saying, "They go on a bulls*** show and leave two empty chairs? They all agree that this is a good thing to do — to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous. His words, not mine."

He also made remarks about his family's Christian faith, describing it as a "merit-based spirituality," and suggested that his relationship with Jordan was affected by "stuff from high school … stuff in college, stuff post-college."

Family Reconciliation

Despite past tensions, the Rodgers family appears to have recently turned a page. In the past month, Aaron Rodgers shared photos on social media showing him spending time with his parents and his older brother, Luke, and Luke's children.

Neither Jordan nor Aaron's wife, Brittani, were present in those specific photos. However, Aaron credited Brittani with playing a significant role in his reconciliation with his family. "…there are different things, situations, experiences, and people that actually change your life," Rodgers told The Athletic. "So, when I say that my wife has completely changed my life, for the better, there's no comparison to any time I've ever said those words before."

He further explained that his wife's love and support created an opening for him to consider reconnecting with his family. "She is the big impetus behind that [reconciliation]. Not that she was pushing it, but just the way that she loves me and supports me, it's allowed me to open up to that possibility. And it's been a couple-year process of communication and spending time together, but that is a real blessing in my life to have those relationships back and to close that circle that was cut for so many years. With her by my side, we reopened that door, and it's been really beautiful."

Brittani Rodgers has largely remained out of the public eye, a decision Aaron Rodgers has supported while still discussing her influence on their relationship and his family connections.
