Aaron Rodgers has seemingly offered a veiled criticism of his brother Jordan Rodgers, suggesting that while he maintained privacy regarding his family's estrangement, other family members did not. The comments came after Rodgers announced his reconciliation with his parents, Ed and Darla, following a years-long rift.
In an interview with The Athletic, Rodgers stated, "I’ve been really staunch, going back to when there was a schism, that I feel like that stuff should be off limits." He then alluded to his brother, saying, "Now, not everybody in the family adhered to the same thing," referencing Jordan's 2016 appearance on the ABC dating show "The Bachelorette." During the show, Jordan spoke about his strained relationship with Aaron.
Rodgers, 42, explained that while he values "different things, situations, experiences, and people that actually change your life," he prefers to keep personal family matters private. His brother Jordan, 37, who is married to JoJo Fletcher, publicly discussed the family's estrangement while on "The Bachelorette." In a 2016 episode, Jordan told Fletcher that he and Aaron did not have a close relationship and that it was "just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life."
Rodgers later addressed his past comments about Jordan's appearance on the dating show, stating in a 2024 documentary that he felt it was a show for his brother "to get famous." He also shared that his distant relationship with his parents was influenced by their "merit-based spirituality," which he found difficult to accept.
In July, Rodgers shared photos on Instagram indicating he had reunited with his parents and brother Luke for a "bonding week." While Jordan was not pictured, Rodgers later told NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt that he had reconciled with "all" of his family. He credited his wife, Brittani, for encouraging him to reconnect with his family. Rodgers revealed in December 2024 that he and Brittani were dating and had since married privately.
