“9-1-1” Season 10 to Premiere October 15, Featuring Volcano Eruption

The highly anticipated tenth season of the procedural drama "9-1-1" is set to premiere on Thursday, October 15, on ABC. The season opener, titled "That Sinking Feeling," will feature the 118 crew facing a city-altering emergency in the form of an erupting volcano.

ABC renewed both "9-1-1" and its spin-off "9-1-1: Nashville" on March 5, ensuring the continuation of storylines for both the Los Angeles-based 118 and the Nashville-based 113 units. The official synopsis for the "9-1-1" Season 10 premiere reveals that the team will contend with an unprecedented natural disaster, with characters like Athena, played by Angela Bassett, leveraging her detective skills to navigate the crisis. May, portrayed by Corinne Massiah, will also find renewed confidence in her new role.

Footage from the upcoming season indicates that characters including Chimney (Kenneth Choi), Hen (Aisha Hinds), Buck (Oliver Stark), Eddie (Ryan Guzman), Ravi (Anirudh Pisharody), and Henry (Elijah M. Cooper) will confront the volcanic threat. The challenge is compounded by the lack of established protocols for such an event in Los Angeles, as highlighted by Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) in promotional materials.

The premiere episode of "9-1-1" Season 10 is scheduled to air from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET. The following day, new episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu.

The "9-1-1" universe is expanding with the return of "9-1-1: Nashville" for its second season, also premiering on Thursday, October 15. The first episode of Season 2, "Going Rogue," will air from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET on ABC. The spin-off's synopsis outlines the 113's response to a museum infestation of murder hornets, alongside a new detective's investigation into ominous crimes. Existing character dynamics, including the fallout from a fight between Blythe and Dixie, will also be addressed.

Viewers can watch "9-1-1" and "9-1-1: Nashville" live on ABC through cable subscriptions, or via streaming on ABC.com or the ABC app using cable provider credentials. For those without traditional cable, services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and fuboTV offer live ABC programming. Episodes will also be available for next-day streaming on Hulu for subscribers to the service, with subscription options including ad-supported ($11.99/month), ad-free ($18.99/month), and various Disney+ bundles.
