49ers Wide Receiver Mike Evans Exits Game With Non-Contact Injury

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a non-contact lower-body injury late in the second quarter of Monday night's game against the Washington Commanders. Evans was seen limping off the field and heading to the locker room with just under a minute left in the first half.

The injury occurred after Evans completed a 16-yard reception from quarterback Brock Purdy. Witnesses reported that Evans appeared to grab at his Achilles after falling to the ground following the catch.

This latest injury adds to an already depleted wide receiver corps for the 49ers. The team entered Monday night's game without Christian Kirk, Deebo Samuel, and rookie De’Zhaun Stribling, all due to injuries. Evans had been listed as questionable for the game with existing rib and Achilles issues, having not practiced during the week.

Before exiting, Evans had recorded three receptions for 94 yards on five targets, including a 54-yard catch early in the game. He is currently the 49ers' leading receiver for the season.

The 49ers held a 20-3 lead over the Commanders at halftime.
