San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools following his arrest in East Palestine, Ohio, over the weekend. He was sentenced to one day in jail, credited for time served, and fined $1,150.
York was arrested Sunday and released after posting a $5,000 bond. Court records initially showed he was charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended the charges. As part of a plea agreement, $160 seized during the arrest was to be given to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, and York completed an online course.
The 46-year-old York took over day-to-day control of the 49ers in 2008 and became the team's principal owner in 2024. Under his ownership, the team has made three Super Bowl appearances. He also oversaw the construction of Levi's Stadium, which opened in 2014 and has hosted major sporting events.
The NFL and the 49ers organization have not immediately responded to requests for comment regarding the incident and potential discipline under the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
