San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk has been fined $14,926 by the NFL for an act the league deemed an "offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste." The fine stems from Juszczyk's touchdown celebration during the 49ers' 35-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Juszczyk, known by teammates as "Juice," performed his customary celebration of pantomiming drinking from a bottle after scoring his first touchdown of the season. This marks the first time the veteran player has been fined for the celebration.
In response to the fine, Juszczyk expressed surprise, noting that he does not even drink beer. He shared his reaction via text message with NFL insider Adam Schefter, stating, "And I don’t even drink beer!" Juszczyk also posted on social media, writing, "Can’t make this stuff up…"
The 35-year-old Juszczyk has been a member of the 49ers for 10 seasons, earning nine Pro Bowl selections during his tenure. His celebratory act, which mimics drinking juice, has been a long-standing tradition for the player.
