49ers Injury Report: Key Players Expected Back After Bye Week

Several key players for the San Francisco 49ers, including running back Christian McCaffrey, are expected to return to the lineup following the team's bye week, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced Monday.

McCaffrey, along with a group of more than a half dozen other injured players, have a chance to be ready for the 49ers' next game, provided their rehabilitation progresses well during the break. Shanahan stated that while their return is not guaranteed, it is an optimistic outlook for the team.

Christian McCaffrey left the 49ers' recent loss to the Atlanta Falcons in the first half with what was initially feared to be a thigh injury. Further examination revealed a mild hamstring strain, and Shanahan expressed optimism about his availability for the team's next matchup against the Raiders.

Other notable players who could return include defensive end Nick Bosa, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, linebackers Luke Gifford and Garrett Wallow, defensive tackle C.J. West, and safety Marques Sigle. Defensive back Upton Stout is also expected back after missing the recent game with a shoulder injury.

Nick Bosa has been sidelined since Sept. 24 with a calf strain. Deebo Samuel and Garrett Wallow both suffered hamstring strains in Week 5. C.J. West has been on injured reserve with a knee issue since Week 3. Demarcus Robinson sustained a high-ankle sprain in Week 2. Luke Gifford has been dealing with a groin issue, and Marques Sigle has been out with a high-ankle sprain. The team had to play their last game before the bye with limited personnel, including only four available wide receivers.

The bye week will provide a crucial recovery period for these players, and their progress will be closely monitored as the team prepares for their return to the field.
