A three-year-old boy attacked by a crocodile is now home and recovering after undergoing seven surgeries. His family stated he is "happy to be home" following the ordeal.

A fundraising page established to support the family has raised over £113,000. The donations have helped cover immediate expenses, including bills and mortgage payments, as well as lost wages during the family's difficult time.

The family plans to donate a portion of the funds to the Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) to express their gratitude to the hospital staff who cared for their son. They also purchased new toys for the pediatric intensive care unit and contributed to the Sick Children's Trust charity. The family specifically mentioned the hospital staff's efforts, including providing superhero costumes to lift their son's spirits.

"They thanked everyone who had 'shown such kindness and generosity during what has been a considerable ordeal for us all'," the BBC reported.

Separately, a man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail. The BBC understands the man, who did not know the child, has learning disabilities and was on a trip with carers. Police stated he was "assessed as not being fit for interview" and his bail is set until September 18.

Authorities are seeking story suggestions from the Cambridgeshire area.
