Twenty-seven passengers were rescued from a rollercoaster in Lowestoft after it malfunctioned, trapping them for over three hours. The incident occurred when a power cut appeared to affect multiple rides at the park.
A park visitor, Richard Lines, who was on another ride nearby, observed a worker tending to the stationary rollercoaster before the carriages began moving again. Shortly after, the ride rolled back and forth before coming to a standstill with the passengers aboard.
The fire service was called to the scene and utilized an aerial ladder to evacuate the trapped individuals. Lines noted that some passengers were stranded for approximately three hours. By 5:10 p.m., all 27 passengers had been safely brought down. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
