16-Year-Old Girl Dies in Crash Near North London School
A 68-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
A 16-year-old girl has died following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car near Highgate School in north London. The Metropolitan Police were called to North Road in Highgate at approximately 8:15 a.m. BST on Tuesday.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, which is located near the private school's main campus. The driver of the car, a 68-year-old man, remained at the location and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Authorities have informed the girl's next of kin, who are being provided support by officers. The London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and London Air Ambulance also responded to the incident.
Road closures were implemented in the vicinity, and the public has been advised to avoid the area while investigations continue.
