A 15-year-old boy has been charged with 22 offenses, including rape and sexual assault, involving eight girls aged between 10 and 15. The incidents are alleged to have occurred between 2023 and 2025.

The teenager, whose identity is protected due to his age, appeared with his mother at Wellingborough Youth Court on Tuesday. During the 20-minute hearing, he did not enter a plea and remained seated at the back of the courtroom.

The charges include 12 counts of sexually assaulting a female, three counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, and one count of raping a girl under 13. Additional charges include one count of assaulting a female aged 13 and over by penetration, one count of raping a girl aged 13-15, and two counts of creating an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child. He also faces charges of possessing a prohibited image of a child and an extreme pornographic image.

District Judge Amar Mehta ruled that the case was too serious for the youth court and ordered it to be transferred to Northampton Crown Court for a further hearing on August 18. The judge granted the boy conditional bail, which includes restrictions on contacting the alleged victims, unsupervised contact with females under 16, and a requirement to engage with the Northamptonshire Youth Justice Service.

The boy spoke only to confirm his personal details and to inquire about the Youth Justice Service.
