13-Year-Old to Voice New Thomas the Tank Engine
Harry Sparkes will lend his voice to the iconic character in a reboot series for YouTube and Netflix.
A 13-year-old has been selected to voice the beloved character Thomas the Tank Engine in a new iteration of the children's classic.
Harry Sparkes will be the voice of the little blue engine in the upcoming "Thomas & Friends Railway Stories." The series is set to premiere on YouTube on September 16, 2026, with a release on Netflix later in the month.
For the past nine months, Sparkes kept his recording sessions a secret from his classmates in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. He reportedly told his peers that he was attending physiotherapy for an injured foot each week.
The reboot will feature actor Henry Golding as the narrator, a role previously filled by Ringo Starr in the popular 1980s ITV series. The stories are based on the original books by Reverend Wilbert Awdry and his son, Christopher.
