Federal authorities have arrested 10 individuals suspected of orchestrating a marriage fraud scheme that spanned approximately a decade and involved around 1,000 sham marriages. The operation allegedly facilitated marriages between Chinese nationals and U.S. citizens for the purpose of obtaining green cards for the Chinese participants.

The suspects face charges including conspiracy to commit marriage fraud, immigration document fraud, and conspiracy to encourage the unlawful residence of aliens in the United States. This alleged scheme represents one of the largest marriage fraud operations ever uncovered in the U.S.
