Detectives investigating the kidnap and murder of Jack Sullivan, 21, are appealing for the public's help to find a distinctive pair of blue Louis Vuitton trainers, which they believe could be a crucial piece of evidence. Sullivan was kidnapped from Waltham Abbey, Essex, on June 22, then viciously attacked. He was later discovered in a car park in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, and died four days later.
Authorities believe the missing trainers, valued at approximately £1,000, could be in the possession of someone wearing them or someone attempting to sell them. "We believe someone will either be wearing them – perhaps with no knowledge of their prior owner – or attempting to sell them," said Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood, who is leading the investigation.
Investigators are also seeking information about a black Mitsubishi Outlander, believed to have been used in the abduction. The vehicle, bearing the registration HY16 FZR, was stolen from Loughton on June 3 and abandoned on June 23 in River Close, near Fishers Close, in Waltham Cross. Police have released an image of the vehicle, noting that the registration plate may not be its true one.
Three individuals have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the case. They have since been released on conditional bail. Detective Chief Inspector Wood emphasized the investigation's focus on providing answers for Sullivan's family and urged anyone with information about the trainers or the Mitsubishi Outlander to come forward via Essex Police's dedicated public portal.
