Zendaya Wraps 'The Odyssey' Press Tour With Daring Outfits and Acting Hiatus Plans
The actress concluded her promotional tour in New York City, showcasing statement fashion and announcing a planned break from acting.
Zendaya concluded the press tour for her upcoming film "The Odyssey" with a series of striking appearances in New York City on Wednesday. The actress, who portrays the Greek goddess Athena in the film, garnered attention for her bold fashion choices and revealed plans to take a hiatus from acting after a demanding year.
On Wednesday, Zendaya first stepped out in a skintight gold Jitrois metallic dress featuring a racer ribbed neckline and a coordinated leather skirt. The ensemble was completed with towering gold Christian Louboutin stilettos, highlighting a significant leg display through a thigh-high split. Her dark hair was styled in curls, complemented by a glamorous makeup palette and a gold watch.
Later, Zendaya arrived at "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" wearing a plunging gold patterned blazer and a matching miniskirt. The outfit featured large shoulder pads and a cinched waist, and she appeared to go braless beneath the blazer. This ensemble also included a high-slit miniskirt and gold stilettos.
The "Odyssey" press tour marks the final promotional events before the film's release. Zendaya has had a prolific year, with five major projects on her slate including "The Drama" (April 2026), the final season of "Euphoria," "The Odyssey" (July 2026), "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (July 2026), and "Dune: Part Three" (December). Following this intensive period, Zendaya expressed her desire for a break.
"I think sometimes it's such a whirlwind and you're kind of like in a new place every second, and your brain is kind of all over the place, and it's fun and I'm grateful and I wouldn't change a thing but sometimes you need to just disappear for a little bit," she told Entertainment Tonight. She hopes to maintain a low profile, stating, "Just mind my business, you know. And stay to myself."
Meanwhile, Zendaya's husband, Tom Holland, who plays Telemachus in "The Odyssey," was also seen promoting the film in the city. Holland wore a Saint Laurent jacket, blue denim jeans, and black boots.
Holland recently shared his initial anxieties about working with director Christopher Nolan on the film. He admitted to feeling overwhelmed on his first day, believing he was performing poorly. "My first day, for me, was probably one of the most daunting experiences of my career," Holland stated, referencing the scale of the production and working with Nolan and a starry ensemble cast that includes Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway. He also recounted a misunderstanding regarding IMAX camera usage, initially thinking Nolan was unhappy with his performance due to frequent cuts, only to realize the magazines had a three-minute recording limit.
"The Odyssey," an adaptation of Homer's epic poem, follows King Odysseus on his journey home after the Trojan War. The film boasts a $250 million budget, making it Nolan's most expensive project to date and the first to be shot entirely on IMAX 70mm cameras.
