TIME and Statista Unveil Top HealthTech Companies of 2026

TIME and Statista have released their inaugural list of the "World’s Top HealthTech Companies 2026," recognizing 500 companies globally that are advancing digital technologies in healthcare. These companies are defined by their development and delivery of digital solutions aimed at improving healthcare services, optimizing patient outcomes, and increasing patient engagement, encompassing areas like mobile health applications and electronic health record software.

The ranking methodology was built on three core pillars: Financial Performance, Reputation Analysis, and Online Engagement. Financial Performance, carrying a 50% weight, was assessed through metrics such as revenue per employee and funding amounts to gauge a company's financial stability and growth potential. Reputation Analysis, accounting for 30% of the score, utilized social listening techniques to evaluate public perception, visibility, and credibility by examining news coverage, blogs, forums, and social media.

The final pillar, Online Engagement, made up 20% of the total score and measured a company's reach and interaction levels through its digital platforms, with website traffic serving as the primary indicator. These three dimensions were combined using a weighted scoring model to determine the final rankings.

Companies on the list are segmented into six distinct HealthTech market categories:

  • AI & Data Analytics: Firms using artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics for diagnostics, personalized treatment, and administrative efficiency.
  • Diagnostics: Companies providing digital tools for medical assessment and early disease detection, including advanced imaging and monitoring technologies.
  • Health Information & Management: Providers of secure digital platforms for managing electronic health records and enhancing clinical workflows.
  • Medical Devices & Wearables: Developers of connected devices and wearables for real-time health monitoring and continuous care.
  • Prevention: Companies creating digital applications and programs focused on health promotion, wellness, and behavioral change.
  • Telehealth & Treatment: Platforms enabling remote healthcare delivery, virtual consultations, and digital therapeutics.

Within the top 500, companies are further designated with performance labels: "Outstanding" for those in the top third with at least two pillar scores of 85% or higher; "Very High" for companies in the middle third with at least two pillar scores of 65% or higher; and "High" for those meeting the list's inclusion criteria but not reaching the specific pillar score thresholds.

This rigorous evaluation process aims to highlight both strong overall performance and consistent excellence across multiple key areas within the rapidly evolving health technology sector.
