The third season of Apple TV+'s "Silo" concluded with an episode that delivered significant character developments, a substantial leap into the future, and a poignant revelation about a central character's past.

The finale, titled "Troy," revealed that Daniel, previously seen in cryo-sleep, has been living under the name Troy. A considerable amount of time has passed since the events of the previous episode, during which a nuclear blast forced Daniel and Helen to seek shelter in different silos. Troy, seemingly unaware of his past identity, is awakened by Victor Crnkovich in Silo 1 to address a rebellion in Silo 17. This high-tech silo, unlike others, features elevators, suggesting its elite residents have withheld knowledge about the silos' true capabilities.

During this crisis, Troy is aided by his sister, Charlotte, who is a drone pilot named Susan. However, memory-wiping drugs prevent them from recognizing each other. Troy orders a brutal "external Safeguard" involving poisonous drone drops, resulting in the deaths of thousands from Silo 17. Susan, witnessing the joy of the freed residents outside, objects and suggests a more targeted approach, but Troy proceeds with the mass execution. He receives a Certificate of Merit from Madam Director, Senator Thurman, for his actions.

Despite the pervasive memory loss, a scar on Troy's hand triggers a flashback to a moment with Helen. He presses Victor for information about the woman in his memories, but Victor, who appears to retain his own memories, simply writes "WHO IS SHE?" on a note and places it in Troy's file before putting him back into cryo-sleep.

Meanwhile, in Silo 18, Camille attempts to prevent "The Safeguard" from activating after a failed cleaning. She buys time by deceiving "The Algorithm"—revealed to be Victor using voice-changing technology from Silo 1—into believing she is releasing poisonous gas into the mines. When this fails, Victor initiates The Safeguard, but it doesn't trigger, confirming Silo 18's plan to cap the pipe was successful.

Victor explains to Camille that the silos were created to ensure the survival of humanity from its self-destructive tendencies. Camille questions this rationale, asking how murder ensures survival. Victor ceases communication with Silo 18 and appears to grapple with his actions.

Juliette, having learned of the successful pipe capping, realizes she must investigate the door found by Lukas in the digger void. Victor, back in Silo 1, commits suicide, leaving a final order for Troy to be awakened. Henry guides Troy to Victor's room, where Troy learns of Victor's death but offers no insight into his troubles, though he senses a past connection.

Troy, now acting as The Algorithm, confronts Juliette at the digger void vault door and threatens the lives of everyone in Silo 18 if she proceeds. Juliette calls his bluff, and after Troy promises no Safeguard if she stands down, she halts her team, revealing her plan to infiltrate Silo 1 to protect everyone.

In the final moments, Troy receives an encrypted message from Victor, which includes a video revealing Helen Drew's name. The season ends with Troy, now visibly remembering, uttering "Helen Drew," suggesting a return of Daniel's memories.

The season finale sets up "Silo" Season 4, with the central mission of taking down Silo 1. The fate of Daniel's long-held memories and the full story of Helen Drew's survival and eventual death, given Silo 18 lacks cryotechnology, remain key questions for the next season.
