Nike Launches Air Zoom Hyperslide with Heat and Vibration for Foot Recovery
The new recovery footwear combines Air Zoom cushioning with adjustable heat and vibration settings to aid post-workout relaxation.
Nike is expanding its line of wearable recovery technology with the introduction of the Air Zoom Hyperslide, a new recovery slide designed to provide targeted heat and vibration. This marks the second collaboration between Nike and recovery tool brand Hyperice, following last year's launch of the Hyperboot.
The Air Zoom Hyperslide is engineered to enhance recovery for a range of users, from athletes to individuals who spend long hours on their feet. Unlike the Hyperboot, which is intended for pre-workout warm-ups, the Hyperslide focuses on post-activity recovery by using heat and vibration to reduce muscle tension and promote relaxation.
The slide features Nike's patented Air Zoom cushioning for comfort and recovery. The core of its recovery technology lies in a removable magnetic Hyperslide Pod integrated into the adjustable strap. This pod offers three levels of heat, reaching a maximum of 117 degrees Fahrenheit, and three vibration settings, with each session lasting 15 minutes. Users can customize both heat and vibration through controls on the pod itself or via the accompanying Hyperice app.
While the Hyperboot utilizes dynamic air compression for the entire foot and ankle, the Hyperslide delivers its therapeutic benefits directly to the top of the foot. Nike stated that the design was informed by feedback from both elite and everyday athletes who sought a combination of cushioning, heat, and vibration.
"Athletes leave everything on the field, and the approach to recovery needs to meet them at the same level," said Tobie Hatfield, senior director of Athlete Innovation at Nike, in a press release. "We wanted to create a solution that kickstarts recovery the moment you power it up — helping athletes feel more relaxed, restored and ready to take their performance to the next level."
The increasing emphasis athletes place on recovery, coupled with a growing demand for tools that alleviate muscle soreness and inflammation, aligns with Nike's ongoing push for innovative, mind-and-body beneficial products. The Air Zoom Hyperslide is set to be available starting September 29 in select markets, including Nike.com, Hyperice.com, and various retail locations worldwide. The footwear is priced at $249.
