New Streaming Releases for the Weekend of July 2-5
This weekend brings a variety of new content to streaming platforms, including season finales, premieres, and new movie additions.
This weekend, streaming services are offering a diverse slate of new and returning series, alongside film releases. Paramount+ will feature the season finale of "Dutton Ranch," Apple TV+ will premiere the third season of "Silo," and Netflix is releasing the new science fiction series "Human Vapor."
"Human Vapor," a co-production between Japan's Toho Studio and executive producer Yeon Sang-ho, reimagines the 1960 film of the same name. The series centers on a killer with the ability to transform into gas, who uses this power to evade capture while committing crimes. The show promises significant visual effects.
Prime Video is adding "Project Hail Mary" to its library. The film, produced and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a science teacher on a mission to save Earth from a dimming sun. While in space, Grace encounters an alien named Rocky, who is on a similar mission for his own planet, leading to an unlikely partnership.
Apple TV+'s "Silo" returns for its third season, continuing the story of a community living in an underground silo for survival. This season will also explore the origins of the silo through a parallel narrative set centuries earlier. Rebecca Ferguson, Common, and Harriet Walter reprise their roles, joined by new cast members Colin Hanks, Jessica Henwick, and Ashley Zukerman.
The first season of Taylor Sheridan's "Dutton Ranch" concludes on Paramount+. The series, which follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler's move from Montana to Texas, previously set viewership records for the platform and has been renewed for a second season.
Other notable releases include "Survival of the Thickest: Season 3" on Netflix, "80 For Brady" and "Dark Winds: Season 4" on Netflix, and "Dorohedoro: Complete Seasons 1 and 2" on Hulu. Fourth of July specials are also available across Peacock, Hulu, Disney+, and Paramount+ throughout the weekend. A full schedule of releases is available across various platforms.
