Meta Unveils Muse AI Assistant to Empower Small Businesses
The new AI tool aims to streamline operations, from marketing to financial analysis, for entrepreneurs.
Meta has launched Muse for Small Business, an artificial intelligence assistant designed to help small business owners manage a wide range of operations. The tool can assist with tasks such as creating advertising campaigns, analyzing financial performance, and managing customer communications.
Muse for Small Business is an extension of Meta's recently released AI product, Muse, which is available for personal use. Unlike generative AI that primarily creates content, Muse functions as an agentic model capable of performing actions on behalf of users, though it requires explicit permission before taking any steps.
Small business owners have expressed optimism about the potential of AI tools like Muse. Tom Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa, noted that the AI could free up his time from office tasks, allowing him to focus more on revenue-generating activities. "If [AI] can take those [office-tasks] off my plate, then it allows me to make more money," Mulholland said.
April Polk, founder and CEO of the women's clothing brand JaeLuxe Shoetique, referred to Muse as her "secret weapon." She participated in an early testing phase at Meta's Los Angeles campus. Polk has utilized the AI to revamp her brand guidelines, overhaul her website, correct email flows, and develop business strategies based on her company's data.
Polk highlighted the AI's ability to integrate with existing business tools like Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, and Canva, as well as support for platforms such as Dropbox, Shopify, Notion, and Stripe. This integration allows Muse to streamline workflows effectively. Polk specifically mentioned the successful creation of a user-generated content influencer program, which the AI managed from start to finish, including emails, participant outreach, and contract distribution.
Mulholland Grocery, a business recognized on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's 2026 top-100 small businesses list, has also benefited from AI assistance. Mulholland, who named his AI assistant "Wall-E," uses it to generate social media ads, organize schedules, and summarize order requests. He explained that the AI helps him reclaim hours previously spent on administrative tasks, allowing him to focus on high-quality meat and sausage production, a key differentiator for his business.
Muse for Small Business is currently available online and in app stores in the U.S. and Canada. While the tool is free with usage limits, Meta also offers subscription plans for unlimited access at $20 or $100 per month.
