Humanoid Robot Origin-F1 Features Lifelike Facial Expressions, Priced Up to $173,000

The humanoid robot named Origin-F1, developed by Chinese robotics firm AheadForm, is designed to mimic human facial expressions and movements with striking realism. The robot utilizes AI-driven facial motion algorithms to achieve natural expressions and avoid the "uncanny valley" effect, aiming for seamless interaction in real-world scenarios. Its hardware includes 26 degrees of freedom, allowing for subtle micro-expressions.

AheadForm describes Origin-F1 as a "desktop ultra-bionic humanoid robot for real-world human interaction scenarios." The robot is available in two primary configurations: 'black,' featuring dark hair, and 'white,' with light blonde hair. The company has indicated potential for unlimited character appearances in the future through advanced 3D reconstruction and biomimetic skin technology.

Online reactions to videos of Origin-F1 have been largely positive, with many users impressed by its lifelike movements, particularly its eye movements and blinking. Some viewers have expressed a desire to purchase the robot, with prices estimated to range from $50,000 to $173,000 depending on specific configurations. A release date for the Origin-F1 has not yet been announced.

This development follows closely on the heels of UBTech Robotics' unveiling of its Uworld U1 androids, also designed for companionship and featuring biomimetic skin and the ability to reproduce approximately 90 percent of human movements. These robots are offered in various configurations, with prices starting around £13,218 and reaching up to £109,205.
