‘Dark Matter’ Season 2 Finale Airs October 30 on Apple TV+
The sci-fi series concludes its second season with the tenth episode, with a producer confirming plans for a potential three-season arc.
The second season of Apple TV+'s science fiction series Dark Matter will conclude on Friday, October 30, with the release of its tenth episode. For viewers eager to watch the season finale as early as possible, Apple TV+ typically makes new episodes available for streaming at 9:00 p.m. ET the night before the official premiere date, meaning the finale could be accessible starting Thursday, October 29, at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Like its first season, Dark Matter's second season comprises a total of 10 episodes. The penultimate episode, titled "How to Build the Box," featured Agent MacNamara observing the capabilities of "the Box."
While Apple TV+ has not yet officially announced a renewal for a third season, there are indications that a continuation is planned. Producer Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry stated in an interview that the series was designed with a three-season arc in mind, aiming to provide a complete story. This suggests that a potential third season would be viewed as the conclusion of a trilogy.
Dark Matter Season 2 has received positive reception, holding an 82% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The series stars Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Oakes Fegley, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Amanda Brugel, and Dayo Okeniyi.
New and existing subscribers can stream Dark Matter on Apple TV+. The service offers a seven-day free trial for new users and has a single ad-free streaming plan available for $14.99 per month. A bundle including Apple TV+ and Peacock is also available starting at $14.99 per month.
As of now, no release date has been set for a potential third season, and it remains to be seen when new episodes might arrive, given the two-year gap between the first and second seasons' premieres.
