China Showcases AI and Robotics Advances Amid Tech Rivalry with US
Chinese companies displayed hundreds of cutting-edge products, including humanoid robots and advanced AI systems, at the World AI Conference in Shanghai.

China's leading technology firms presented a wide array of advanced products, from sophisticated robotics to artificial intelligence systems, at the World AI Conference held in Shanghai from July 17 to 20.
The event, China's premier annual AI gathering, occurred against the backdrop of an escalating technological rivalry between the United States and China. Over 1,100 companies participated in the conference.
According to state media reports, Chinese companies have developed more than 400 different models of humanoid robots, representing over half of the global total. Furthermore, open-source AI models originating from China are gaining widespread international adoption, increasingly competing with prominent American models.
