Aston Martin Unveils Military-Grade 'Dreadnought' SUV for Call of Duty

Aston Martin has revealed the Dreadnought, a formidable, military-grade SUV designed exclusively for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 game. This digital-only vehicle, a stark departure from the brand's signature luxury sports cars, boasts immense ground clearance, aggressive tires, extensive body armor, and a powerful V12 engine. While it will not be seen on real roads or battlefields, Aston Martin produced a full-scale, drivable model that was recently showcased at Fanatics Fest in New York.

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's chief creative officer, described the Dreadnought as an "unapologetic, uncompromising tactical all-wheel-drive SUV" that carries the "roar of a full-blooded, V12-powered Aston Martin." The design incorporates extreme performance capabilities, advanced armor technologies, and integrated digital command interfaces, intended to equip fictional operatives for dangerous missions. Internally, the vehicle features unique storage for weapons and ammunition, with door cards designed to hold assault rifles and grenade holders integrated into the center console.

Despite its aggressive, tactical appearance, the Dreadnought retains distinctive elements of Aston Martin's heritage. It features the brand's iconic Chiltern Green paint, carbon fiber with a herringbone weave, and an Oxford Tan leather dashboard. Even the gear lever is finished in gold, nodding to the brand's luxury roots. The name "Dreadnought" itself is a reference to the revolutionary early 20th-century British warship of the same name, symbolizing power and innovation.

Aston Martin views the Dreadnought initiative as a strategic move to expand its brand presence and engage with a younger, global audience. According to Stefano Saporetti, Aston Martin's director of brand diversification, the digital vehicle serves as a "strategic gateway for a younger, global audience to experience our ultra-luxury DNA." This collaboration pushes the boundaries of virtual engineering to ensure the spirit of Aston Martin resonates with future luxury consumers.

While the Dreadnought is primarily a digital asset for the Call of Duty franchise, the creation of a full-size model suggests the possibility of it becoming a real-world vehicle should a high-profile client express interest.
