Apple has officially entered the foldable phone market with the debut of its first foldable device, the iPhone Duo. The announcement also included the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as well as the Apple Watch Series 12.

New Foldable and iPhone Lineup

The iPhone Duo features Apple's largest screen to date, described as 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro. It boasts a seamless display with rounded corners and a hinge designed for a smooth experience. The device is constructed with titanium and liquid glass, and Apple states it is the thinnest iPhone when unfolded. It includes integrated controls, adaptive screen orientation for multi-tasking, and IP68 water and dust resistance. The phone supports Touch ID and offers all-day battery life with fast charging. Apple also announced that the Apple Pencil will be compatible with the foldable later this year. The iPhone Duo is available in star white and night sky colors.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max feature a design similar to previous Pro models, with new color options including Glacier and Burgundy. Apple has slightly reduced the size of the Dynamic Island. Both models are powered by a new, faster chip designed to enhance Apple's AI features, with a doubled neural engine and increased memory bandwidth. Thermal performance has also been improved. Battery life is a key upgrade, with the Pro model offering up to 24 hours of use and the Pro Max up to 30 hours on a full charge.

Camera upgrades across the new iPhones include variable aperture for improved low-light photography, faster Night mode capture, and customizable pro controls for both photos and videos. New photo editing tools such as Extend and a reframing tool are also included.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Health Features

The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are highlighted for their advanced health and wellness features, powered by the new S11 chip. The Health Sensing System provides more optimized readings, including heart rate monitoring every five seconds and significantly more frequent Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measurements. The Health app now includes a readiness score, a "Health Age" feature for biomarker comparison, and deeper insights for health improvement. Other available health assessments include cardio fitness.

New audio intelligence features are integrated, such as sound detection for users with hearing impairments and a "live rewind" feature that can record surroundings for later review. Siri Recap aims to assist with ambient listening and note-taking, with all data reportedly end-to-end encrypted. The Apple Watch Series 12 offers a two-day battery life and is available in new colorways like brushed bronze, ceramic pearl white, and night blue.

AirPods 5

The AirPods 5 were also announced, featuring an open-ear design with enhanced noise cancellation compared to previous generations. They automatically adjust between transparency mode and active noise cancellation based on ambient sound. The AirPods 5 integrate with Siri AI, allowing conversations to be stored and referenced via the new Siri app. Users can expect four hours of listening time with ANC enabled, and they are noted as being more durable than their predecessors, with pricing remaining the same as the previous generation without ANC. A second version offers five hours of battery life with ANC, on-device volume controls, and a wireless charging case.
