Apple HomeView Smart Display Available for Preorder Ahead of November Release
The new smart home device offers features for household connectivity and communication, with other Apple smart home products expected in the future.
Apple's new smart home display, the HomeView, is now available for preorder, with an official launch date set for November 13. The device aims to serve as a central hub for households, offering integrated smart features and communication capabilities.
The Apple HomeView is priced at $299 and can be preordered through Amazon and Apple's official website. It features a 7-inch display and a Center Stage camera, designed to facilitate video calls even while users are engaged in other activities like cooking or chores. The device also includes Siri integration for voice commands, allowing users to control smart home functions, check schedules, or access information.
A notable feature of the HomeView is its ability to recognize up to six household members, personalizing the user experience for each individual. The device's design is intended to be minimalist, suitable for placement on kitchen counters, and users can customize the display with clocks, photos, or other visual elements.
For users looking to save space, Apple also offers a wall-mounted version of the HomeView. However, the necessary mounting equipment is sold separately, and professional installation may be required depending on the home setup.
Looking ahead, Apple plans to expand its smart home ecosystem with new devices such as smart cameras, thermostats, and door locks. These products are anticipated to launch in late 2026 and early 2027, with the potential to create a more interconnected home environment controllable through the HomeView or voice commands.
For consumers interested in alternatives, other smart displays are currently available. The Amazon Echo Show 11 is priced at $199.99, and the larger-screen Amazon Echo Show 15 is available for $349.99. Google's Nest Hub, also featuring a 7-inch display, is priced at $219.99.
