Yankees WAGs Celebrate Playoff Sweep in Style
Partners of the New York Yankees shared behind-the-scenes moments of their jubilation following the team's Wild Card Series victory over the Boston Red Sox.
The wives and girlfriends of the New York Yankees celebrated a significant playoff victory on Wednesday night, sharing glimpses of their festivities after the team secured a sweep against the Boston Red Sox.
The Yankees defeated their rivals 9-2 in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series, advancing to an ALDS matchup with the Tampa Bay Rays. This marks the second consecutive season the Yankees have eliminated the Red Sox in the Wild Card Series.
Chase Carter Bellinger, wife of outfielder Cody Bellinger, posted a photo with Amy Cole, wife of pitcher Gerrit Cole, and Natalie McMahon, wife of third baseman Ryan McMahon. The group was seen toasting the win, with Chase Bellinger lifting her leg in excitement.
"Woooohoooooo," Bellinger captioned the image, noting that Ava O'Connor, girlfriend of rookie outfielder Spencer Jones, was behind the camera.
O'Connor also shared her own photos from the celebration, including images with Natalie McMahon and Amy Cole. She also posted a picture with Darby Warren, wife of pitcher Will Warren, taken on the field after the game.
The Red Sox were outscored 18-2 over the course of the series. The Yankees' success was attributed in part to strong pitching performances from Cam Schlitter and Max Fried, who combined for a 0.73 ERA against Boston.
"We're going to continue to rely on amazing starting pitching like we have all year," said Ben Rice after the Game 2 win. "Especially in the postseason, that's what you need."
