Wrestling Star PAC's Cause of Death Revealed as Bronchial Asthma
The 40-year-old AEW performer was found unresponsive in a rental car weeks after his death.
The cause of death for wrestling star PAC, whose real name is Benjamin Satterley, has been determined to be bronchial asthma, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. The 40-year-old British athlete was pronounced dead on September 27 in Des Plaines, Illinois. The manner of his death was officially ruled as natural.
Satterley was discovered unresponsive in the driver's seat of a rental car outside a CAVA restaurant around 4 p.m. First responders described the situation as a "slumped in a car," with a 911 caller reporting that he appeared to be passed out. An incident report indicated no signs of physical trauma or suspicious marks on his body. Investigators noted saliva on his shirt and found medication within the vehicle.
An acquaintance told investigators that Satterley had stopped for lunch before heading to the airport. His mobile phone was found on the console with Google Maps active, showing directions to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Satterley had competed in an All Elite Wrestling (AEW) event the night before his death.
AEW announced his passing shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 27. The promotion stated that Satterley, a native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, began his wrestling career in 2004 and performed for organizations worldwide, known for his high-flying moves and in-ring ability. He signed with AEW in 2019, holding multiple championships and participating in memorable matches. AEW extended condolences to Satterley's family, friends, and fans.
Satterley also previously competed in WWE under the name Adrian Neville. His last AEW appearance was on September 26, where he faced Andrade at the NOW Arena and later appeared during a main event match.
