Fans hoping for a last-minute ticket to the World Cup final between Lionel Messi's Argentina and Lamine Yamal's Spain should be prepared for extremely high prices. The championship match on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey, has become a significant financial hurdle for attendees.
As of Saturday morning, the cheapest tickets available on FIFA's official resale site were listed at $6,411.25 for a mid-level view behind the goal. These tickets were quickly purchased and no longer available by lunchtime. Tickets in the upper deck corners were priced close to $10,000, while seats offering a closer view of the action approached $16,000. Premium hospitality seats were listed as high as nearly $60,000.
Resale platforms like SeatGeek and StubHub showed similar pricing trends, with upper deck tickets starting around $10,000 and some lower bowl seats nearing $35,000.
The high cost reflects the opportunity to witness Messi, widely considered one of the greatest players in history, compete for a title against Yamal, a prominent emerging star in soccer. Argentina is vying for its fourth World Cup title and aiming to become the first team to win consecutive World Cups since Brazil in the 1950s. Spain previously won the tournament in 2010.
