Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare prompted the cancellation of a training session on Monday after he refused to leave the pitch, according to BBC Sport. The 25-year-old forward sat down and insisted the club permit a move to Italian side Fiorentina.
Molineux officials have rejected an offer from Fiorentina, though they have accepted a bid from Turkish club Trabzonspor. Arokodare's actions led to new head coach Cesar Peixoto ending the session prematurely.
Arokodare will not be included in Wednesday's friendly against Maidenhead United as the club continues its pre-season preparations. This incident marks another point of contention in the striker's tenure at Wolves, following a disciplinary issue in April after a confrontation with young forward Mateus Mane.
Signed for £24 million from Genk last summer, Arokodare scored only three league goals as Wolves finished last in the Premier League and were subsequently relegated. The situation presents an early challenge for Peixoto, who took over from Rob Edwards last month. Peixoto, who has one cap for Portugal as a player, moved from Gil Vicente with the objective of returning Wolves to the Premier League at the first attempt.
