British wrestler Will Ospreay is set to headline AEW's All In show at Wembley Stadium this weekend. Ospreay, whose ring nickname "aerial assassin" is inspired by the video game series Assassin's Creed, has incorporated elements from the games into his wrestling style and persona.
Ospreay stated that the character Ezio Auditore da Firenze from the early Assassin's Creed games influenced his ring attire and high-flying maneuvers. "I loved the way he moved and I loved the outfit with the big jackets and hood," Ospreay said, referring to Auditore. "And I decided to put that into my wrestling ability because I was very aerially gifted - I knew which way up and down is." He believes Auditore would be an "amazing wrestler" in real life.
The wrestler sees a connection between wrestling and gaming, describing both as forms of escapism. "Wrestling has always been able to take a break from reality and to give people enjoyment, hope and storytelling and I think that's the same thing as gaming," he explained. "It's just an art form, it's a way of telling stories through either combat or through visuals and pictures."
Ospreay's career has seen him overcome significant injuries to achieve his wrestling ambitions. His aerial prowess and dynamic in-ring performances have made him a prominent figure in professional wrestling, leading to this major event at Wembley.
