Will Levis has been waived by the Tennessee Titans, concluding a three-year tenure with the Nashville franchise that was fraught with challenges.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Titans had been attempting to trade Levis for some time, but with no apparent interest from other teams, both sides have now moved on. This development marks another significant blow in what has been a turbulent career for the quarterback since entering the league.
Levis's NFL entry was marked by a surprising draft slide in 2023, where he fell to the 33rd pick despite projections of being a top overall selection. This meant he missed out on the lucrative fifth-year option available to first-round picks, placing him on a faster track to free agency.
On the field, Levis experienced significant struggles during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, throwing 16 interceptions across 21 starts. He became a frequent subject of NFL blooper reels due to several notable turnovers. One particular play against the Jets in September 2024, a botched shovel pass, drew a visible reaction from head coach Brian Callahan, who was caught on camera questioning the decision.
Off the field, Levis's personal life also encountered difficulties. His relationship with college sweetheart Gia Duddy, who gained attention alongside him on draft night in 2023, ended quietly in September of that year, shortly after she relocated to Nashville to be with him. Neither party publicly addressed the split.
Further personal turmoil arose in May 2024 with the leak of an intimate video involving Levis and Duddy, which circulated on social media. While Levis remained silent on the matter, his mother, Beth Levis, spoke about the incident in an interview on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast in May of this year. She recounted her son calling her in tears, expressing deep apologies. Beth Levis stated that her son hired cybersecurity and private investigator services, incurring substantial costs in an effort to identify the source of the leak and remove the footage. Investigators reportedly traced the breach to a device that had been compromised years prior, during Levis's time at Kentucky. The fallout also affected his younger sister, Claire, who faced issues at school.
The leaked tape resurfaced on social media recently, with online users speculating about Duddy's current relationship status. Duddy has since confirmed she has a new boyfriend and has teased his identity online.
Levis's 2025 season was cut short before it began due to a shoulder injury, leading to Cam Ward, Tennessee's No. 1 overall pick, being established as the team's long-term quarterback solution. Now waived, Levis is free to sign with any NFL team, leaving open the question of which franchise will be willing to take a chance on him, despite his history of misfortune, public criticism, and off-field issues.
