White Doubts Fury-Joshua Fight Amid Promoter Feud

UFC president Dana White has voiced uncertainty regarding the highly anticipated heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, stating he "has no idea" if the £150 million fight will proceed as scheduled on December 11.

The potential clash, announced just over 24 hours prior to Fury's public statement, was thrown into jeopardy when Fury claimed Joshua "wants to pull out" amid a public dispute between White and Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn.

White, who is involved in promoting the fight alongside Saudi Arabia's boxing supremo Turki Al-Sheikh, previously advocated for the contest to take place in New York City. However, Hearn successfully negotiated to bring the fight back to Cardiff.

Hearn has asserted that Joshua's contract prohibits White's involvement and has threatened discussions with broadcaster Netflix over White's attendance at an upcoming press conference in London. Fury, in turn, attributed the potential cancellation to Hearn's "ego."

During a press conference, White described the situation as a "sshow," emphasizing his lack of clarity on the fight's status. "The guy who is supposed to be helping the fight has been hurting the fight the entire time," White said, directly criticizing Hearn. "He hasn't done the fight any favors. I don't know anybody who is more full of s than Eddie Hearn."

When questioned about stepping aside, White responded, "That's not up to me. I'm involved in the f***ing fight." He added that if Hearn were truly committed to the fight, it would have occurred much earlier, and Hearn could finance it himself.

Fury had previously aired his frustrations in an expletive-laden Instagram video, calling Joshua and Hearn "cowards" and accusing Hearn's "ego" of creating obstacles. Fury also speculated about potential replacements, including American light heavyweight champion David Benavidez, suggesting he could fight Fury if Joshua withdraws.

If the fight were to proceed, both Fury and Joshua are expected to earn approximately £75 million each for what is considered one of the biggest boxing events to be staged in the United Kingdom.
