The Golden State Warriors have agreed to terms with forward Alex Toohey, their top selection in the 2025 NBA Draft, for training camp. Toohey, originally drafted 52nd overall, is set to compete for one of the team's two-way contracts.
Toohey's initial tenure with the Warriors was hampered by a knee injury, limiting him to just two games for their G League affiliate, Santa Cruz. He was waived in December to make room for Malevy Leons. Both Toohey and Leons are expected to vie for the available two-way slots.
Other players aiming for similar opportunities include sharpshooter LJ Cryer, rookie guard Lajae Jones, and forwards Deivon Smith and Graham Ike, who have also signed Exhibit 10 contracts. Dalen Terry, a former first-round pick, will also participate in training camp but must earn a full-time roster spot, as he is ineligible for a two-way contract.
The Warriors' roster now stands at 20 players, one shy of the offseason maximum. In recent weeks, the team has added veterans Georges Niang and Brandon Williams on minimum contracts to round out their 15-man roster.
Training camp is scheduled to begin on September 29 in Hawaii, with sessions running through October 3 at BYU-Hawaii. The team will open its preseason schedule against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 4 in Honolulu. Toohey's return marks a new opportunity for the Australian forward to make his mark in the NBA after an injury-plagued start.
