Future Hall of Fame linebacker Von Miller, a two-time Super Bowl champion, has agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys, the team confirmed Sunday evening. The 37-year-old pass rusher was a free agent after spending the past NFL season with the Washington Commanders.
Miller, who leads active NFL players with 138.5 career sacks, is expected to sign a one-year deal with Dallas. He will join a Cowboys pass-rush unit that includes Micah Parsons, Dorance Armstrong, and first-round pick Malachi Lawrence.
In his single season with the Commanders, Miller recorded nine sacks over 17 games. Washington finished the season with a 5-12 record and missed the postseason.
Miller was a first-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2011. He won his first Super Bowl with Denver in 2016 and his second with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. His career accolades include eight Pro Bowl selections, three first-team All-Pro nods, and the 2011 Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's All-2010s team.
After a brief stint with the Rams, Miller signed with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent, playing three seasons with the team. His time in Buffalo was marked by challenges, including a four-game suspension in 2024 for violating the league's personal conduct policy. He also sustained a torn ACL, which sidelined him for the latter part of the 2022 season and the beginning of the 2023 season.
Earlier this month, Miller had hinted at a potential return to the Bills, sharing social media posts that suggested "unfinished business." However, he had also teased a move to Dallas throughout the offseason.
Miller previously worked with new Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker for part of one season in Denver before his trade to Los Angeles.
