The U.S. men's national team advanced to the World Cup Round of 16 with a 2-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday night, despite playing with 10 players for a significant portion of the second half.

Folarin Balogun opened the scoring for the U.S. in the 45th minute. The goal came after an earlier strike by Balogun was disallowed due to an offside call. The team faced a setback in the 64th minute when Balogun received a controversial red card for stepping on an opponent's foot and ankle.

Malik Tillman extended the lead in the 83rd minute with a free kick from just outside the box that curled past the diving goalkeeper, Nikola Vasilj. The U.S. will now prepare to face Belgium in the next round. Balogun is expected to miss the upcoming match unless an appeal regarding his red card is successful.
