The second annual U.S. Open mixed doubles tournament commences today, August 25, with a $1 million prize pool at stake. The event features a field of prominent tennis stars, including top-seeded Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka, who are making their competitive debut as a pair. The tournament will conclude tomorrow, August 26, at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
Carlos Alcaraz is set to return to the court in the mixed doubles event following a wrist injury that led to his withdrawal from the French Open and Wimbledon. Alcaraz, who has not previously won a mixed doubles title, will partner with Serena Williams. This mixed doubles competition may represent the only opportunity for viewers to see Williams compete at Arthur Ashe Stadium this year, as she is not participating in the singles draw.
Defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, along with Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz, are also confirmed participants. Matches in the mixed doubles tournament will be best-of-three sets, with teams needing to win four games to secure a set. The final on August 26 will also be a best-of-three-set match, but with sets to six games.
Matches begin at 10 a.m. ET on August 25. The tournament will be broadcast on ESPN2 on August 25. The following day, August 26, matches will start on ESPN2 before shifting to ESPN for the final.
For those without cable, live TV streaming services offer a way to watch the tournament.
