Rainy conditions did not deter enthusiastic attendees from enjoying the U.S. Open tennis tournament on Tuesday. Many fans braved the wet weather to be at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, with some stating they were committed to attending regardless of the forecast.

Lines were observed for popular concessions, and crowds gathered to watch matches on large screens near Arthur Ashe Stadium, which, along with Louis Armstrong Stadium, features a roof. For attendees like Jennesa McElrath and Allison Grace, the decision to attend was a "calculated" one, with tickets already in hand.

The cost of admission was a significant factor for many. While grounds passes for Monday's event were reportedly selling for over $360, fans on Tuesday paid around $150 to $230 for their tickets. "We were coming regardless," one attendee, identified as Taylor, told The Post, echoing a sentiment of unwavering dedication.

Despite the initial damp conditions, play eventually commenced on the outer courts. Some attendees found the weather to be an unexpected benefit, as postponed matches led to a more manageable schedule for those with grounds passes. "Given that more of the matches got postponed and the lineup is pretty good for ground passes today, I think it’s a better shot, knowing that hopefully the weather’s gonna do us right," commented Ray Li, anticipating an afternoon of tennis.
