UCF Knights Partner with Walt Disney World for Helmet Sponsorship
The Orlando-based university will feature a Walt Disney World decal on the back of their football helmets for their Big 12 opener.
The University of Central Florida Knights football team is set to debut a new helmet sponsorship featuring Walt Disney World, aligning with the Orlando-based institution's prominent local ties. The decal will be visible on the back of the Knights' helmets as they face TCU to begin their Big 12 conference schedule.
This partnership draws on a historical connection between the university and the entertainment giant. Following their Peach Bowl victory over Auburn and their claimed national championship after the 2017 season, UCF celebrated with a parade through Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
Walt Disney World's presence on the UCF helmets marks another instance of Disney extending its brand into sports sponsorships. Disneyland was recently announced as the helmet sponsor for the NHL's Anaheim Ducks.
The Knights enter Saturday's game with a 2-1 record and will be aiming to improve their performance in conference play since joining the Big 12. In addition to the sponsorship news, the team has also introduced a popular ticket option that includes unlimited hot dogs during the initial portion of games.
