Tyson Fury has defended his decision to fight Mariusz Wach in Thailand, a contest he says will be broadcast as part of a Netflix documentary series.

The heavyweight champion stated that some modern sports stars believe they are more significant than they actually are, citing the decision to fight in front of a small crowd of 1,500 people in Thailand.

Fury is set to face Wach on Friday, with the fight to be featured in the third series of the Netflix documentary 'At Home with the Furys'. The proposed fight between Fury and Anthony Joshua has been in discussion for over a decade, with contracts signed for a bout expected later this year, though a venue has not yet been confirmed.

Despite Wach having lost seven of his last 10 fights and being considered a significant underdog, Fury insisted that the Polish veteran presents a more formidable challenge than Joshua's recent opponent, Kristian Prenga. "Let me tell you, Mariusz Wach would put his fist through Joshua's opponent, whoever he is," Fury said. "This man would knock him spark out. He's a real fighting man."

Fury emphasized his focus on his own upcoming fight. "We're not interested in other people. This is my show. I'm not interested in what's going on elsewhere with Joshua or [Deontay] Wilder or [Oleksandr] Usyk or anybody. This is about me and Mariusz, not about anybody else. What happens beyond Friday is none of my concern. What will be will be."
