Tyreek Hill's potential return to NFL action may be significantly delayed as he continues to recover from a severe knee injury suffered last September. The star receiver, who played for the Miami Dolphins last year, is currently a free agent as he rehabilitates a devastating injury that included damage to his ACL, MCL, PCL, and patella in Week 4.
James Palmer of Bleacher Report expressed a grim outlook on Hill's prospects for the upcoming 2026 season. "There still is, to my understanding, no guarantee that Tyreek Hill plays in 2026," Palmer stated on a recent podcast. "I think it’s wishful thinking."
While Hill has been sharing videos of his rehabilitation progress on social media, Palmer suggested these may not be sufficient to convince teams to offer him a contract given the severity of the injury. Hill's primary asset, his speed, could be compromised by limitations in his healing knee, potentially impacting his market value and appeal to potential suitors.
Medical experts had initially projected a possible midseason return for Hill. However, teams will likely want to see him participating in full-speed drills before considering any contract offers. Should Hill overcome the odds and regain his pre-injury form, he could become a sought-after midseason acquisition for a contending team.
In addition to his football future, Hill has also been navigating legal matters. He recently settled a lawsuit with Sophie Hall, a model and influencer who accused him of breaking her leg in 2023. Hall alleged in her lawsuit that Hill pushed her to the ground in a "fit of anger" at his Florida mansion. Hill agreed to settle the negligence claim in May, and Hall subsequently agreed to drop her claims of assault and battery.
