Tyreek Hill's potential return to the NFL is in serious jeopardy due to a concerning update on his severe knee injury. The former Miami Dolphins wide receiver currently remains unsigned as training camps approach, while he undergoes extensive rehabilitation.
Hill sustained a complex knee injury involving tears to his MCL, ACL, PCL, and patella. James Palmer, a reporter for Bleacher Report, recently shared a pessimistic outlook on Hill's availability for the 2026 season. "There still is, to my understanding, no guarantee that Tyreek Hill plays in 2026," Palmer stated on his podcast. "I think it's wishful thinking."
According to Palmer, the workout videos Hill has shared on social media may not be sufficient to persuade NFL teams to offer him a contract. Prospective teams are reportedly seeking comprehensive medical evaluations and evidence of him running at full speed in drills before considering an offer.
Medical professionals had initially anticipated a midseason return as the most optimistic outcome given the severity of the multi-ligament tear. Hill's career is heavily dependent on his speed, and any lasting limitations could significantly affect his market value. If Hill can recover sufficiently later in the year, he could become a valuable midseason acquisition for a team pursuing a Super Bowl.
There has been speculation about a possible reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs if they are in contention late in the season. However, his immediate playing future remains uncertain until he can demonstrate that his knee is fully healed and prepared for the demands of NFL play.
In separate legal news, Hill recently settled a lawsuit with an OnlyFans model who accused him of intentionally breaking her leg in 2023. The model, Sophie Hall, had filed a lawsuit in February 2024, alleging that Hill shoved her to the ground in a "fit of anger" at his Florida home in June 2023 after she "embarrassed" him during a training session. Hill agreed to settle the negligence claim in May, and Hall has agreed to drop her assault and battery claims. The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.
