Tyquan Thornton's Gruesome Injury Mars Chiefs' Unbeaten Run

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton sustained a severe ankle injury during the team's dramatic victory against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter with the Chiefs trailing 17-19.

Thornton made a crucial 55-yard reception from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, advancing Kansas City into the red zone. However, the celebration was short-lived as the extent of his injury became apparent.

Following a tackle from behind by Raiders safety Treydan Stukes, Thornton's ankle was visibly misshapen. After a period of concern, he was carted off the field, with broadcaster Jim Nantz advising viewers with a sensitive disposition to look away.

Despite the setback, the Chiefs managed to secure a 30-27 win, extending their perfect start to the season to 4-0. The Raiders, part-owned by Tom Brady, suffered their first loss of the campaign.

Kansas City took the lead with a touchdown from Kenneth Walker, and an ensuing Raiders fumble allowed Walker to score again, extending their advantage. The Raiders, however, mounted a late charge, with Kirk Cousins connecting with Brock Bowers for a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion narrowing the deficit to three points. The Chiefs ultimately held on for the win.
